Business Support Officer has a competitive pay rate of £ 14.50per hour, increasing in line with Harrow Council Pay Scale increments. Business Support Officer :

- To promote and participate in the council's investors in people (IIP) and individual performance appraisal and development (IPAD) initiatives and information management best practice.
- To ensure compliance with the council's information security policies and maintain confidentiality.
- To deliver excellent administrative and Business Support services in accordance with
- statutory requirements and in compliance with relevant policies and procedures,
- To ensure effective and efficient service delivery and act as a point of contact for complex enquiries (including complaints) that cannot be resolved by the Core Business Support staff; coordinating, reporting, resolving and monitoring complaints to the service area, as required
- To work collaboratively with colleagues across the Business Support Service to develop, implement and monitor systems and processes, as necessary, to ensure an efficient and seamless service delivery for service users
- To answer routine telephone, email and written queries and enquiries, signposting as appropriate or forwarding a message to relevant colleagues.
- To undertake high level complex Business Support processes including producing complex, confidential or sensitive reports, arranging Panel meetings, documents and correspondence
- To provide a range of administrative support to projects across the service area as required, including producing project documentation, tracking actions, keeping records, collating information, diary management, setting up meetings and producing agendas, complex minute taking (including verbatim minute taking) and subsequently transcribe the minutes and dispatch same and liaison between key stakeholders.
About you, the successful
Business Support Officer will have:
- Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook/ GroupWise
- Best practice administrative and Business Support processes including record keeping, maintaining databases, document processing, photocopying, proof reading, progress chasing and filing practice etc.
- Knowledge of working in a customer-focussed environment and the principles of providing excellent customer service
- Comprehensive IT skills to produce high quality/accurate documents, reports, statistics, ability to interrogate data bases etc
- Proven track record in working in a Business Support Team providing specialist support to practitioners and managers
