New Edinburgh city centre restaurant opening early April 2024.
The standard rate for a line chef will be £13ph plus tips (estimated at £7000 per annum)
Previous Italian Restraurant experience NOT required
We are seeking a skilled Line chef to work mainly stove work in our our restaurant.
You will be responsible for food preperation but mainly working with pans on the stove. This job will very much suit any chef who is use to working on the line in a high volume restauraunt.
About Us
Ragu Pasta is a fresh pasta restaurant with all of our pasta being prodcuced in house daily.
Our menu willl be simple (10-13) pasta dishes and 5 sides all authentic using the best quality Italian ingridents. You will receive on site trianing from our Italian Pasta Consulting company and head chef in the run up to the opening.
Duties:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and fish
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Follow recipes and presentation specifications to ensure consistency and quality
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Skills:
- Proven experience as a Line chef
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and meal assembly
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely preparation of meals
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
