Job role
Consultant Social Worker needed for a busy Disabled Children's Service to manage a team of social workers. Workers within the DCS team carry a varied a caseload including Children In Need, Children subject to Child Protection Plans, Looked After Children and those in the process of transition to adult services.
The team work with children with a wide range of additional needs including complex health needs and with children who have life limiting conditions. 0-18 Early Years and Pregnancy 0-4 Primary 4 -10 Secondary 11-14 Preparing for Adulthood 14-18
As a Social worker you must have a degree in Social work with a minimum 2 years post qualifying experience and passed your AYSE, experience in an NHS Establishment or a local authority is desirable.
To act in accordance with SWE registration requirements and Code of Conduct for exercising accountability and professional practice.
To provide professional Social work assessments to support the commissioning process in line with care management and continuing care.
Employers will be keen to see that you have a friendly and caring attitude, and understand and respect people who need healthcare support.
Previous experience and/or qualifications in Social work are essential to apply for this role.
