We are currently looking to hire an experienced Claims Advocate to support the Bermuda Profin team in providing a first class claims service. This is an excellent opportunity for a Claims professional to really accelerate their career with the potential to travel to Bermuda in the future. You will be assisting with the proactive handling of mainly Professional Indemnity claims in nearly all professions, with some D&O/FI/Med Mal/Cyber, from first advice to file closure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaising with Bermuda Producing Brokers throughout the via e-mail and telephone to help deliver and maintain our first-class in-house claims service.
- Reviewing and analysing the overall claims portfolio and implementing efficiency and consistency of approach
- Notifying and communicating with Insurers, Solicitors and Loss Adjusters and having knowledge/control of the claim file so as to best represent the Insured’s interests at all times.
- Ensuring claims are correctly entered and processed on ECF.
- Maintaining accurate claims records on our IT system, ensuring these are kept up to date and ready to be produced for policy renewal.
- Ad-hoc administrative and other claim duties as required.
- Ensuring effective liaison with Accounting colleagues both with regard to collection/payment of funds, any queries and the subsequent clearance of accounting entries
- Keeping up to date with market and system changes
- Monitoring workload and reporting to Senior Management as appropriate
Generic Knowledge Requirements:
- Sufficient knowledge and understanding of the relevant aspects of the Law of Agency and the Law of Contract to be able to perform the Principal Tasks
- Sufficient knowledge and understanding of the general concepts of insurance to be able to perform the Principal Tasks
- Good working knowledge of the Underwriters and markets; and their practices, documentation and customs
- Good working knowledge of the UK, Irish and other relevant insurance and regulatory environment
- To be proactive in the provision of claims solutions for large clients
- Poses strong and effective communication to Senior Management
Specific Knowledge Requirements:
- Knowledge of Bishopsgate Insurance Brokers practices, procedures and service standards
- Knowledge of Claims Division business strategy, goals and objectives.
- Knowledge and/or awareness of Bishopsgate Insurance Brokers IT systems and processes
