For every child, a chance to shine.
The children, staff and governors of Whaley Bridge Enhanced Resource Primary School are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and knowledgeable teacher to teach within our specialist Enhanced Resource setting (ERS) from September 2024.
We are a supportive, caring and dedicated team and staff wellbeing is given a high priority in our happy school. We are looking for a candidate who will bring additional strength to our teaching team, through their excellent classroom practice.
This unique position involves teaching a bespoke curriculum to a small group of pupils from across the primary age range, all who have EHCPs naming Enhanced Resource Provision. The learners have a range of complex communication needs including Autism. As such, the successful candidate will ideally have experience of planning personalised curriculum pathways and delivering a range of strategies designed to support learners who have significant communication differences.
The candidate will be an outstanding practitioner with strong inclusive values as well as a playful, positive and flexible team player. The role involves working with a small, experienced group of teaching assistants, and so the post holder will need to have experience of deploying and guiding a team of teaching assistants, as well as working closely with the mainstream teachers who teach this group of students in the afternoons.
The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge, experience and understanding of the full primary age range and must have a significant interest in or experience of SEND. Although the SENDCO qualification is not essential, this post may suit an aspiring SENDCO, or a SENDCO who has been working in another setting and who wishes to deepen their experiences.
Our curriculum is underpinned by three core drivers and we are looking for someone who is able to inspire and demonstrate these values:
Caring and Green
You will demonstrate a kind, nurturing personality, respect for nature and the environment, especially the beautiful High Peak locality in which our school is situated.
Amazing Individuals
Your unique personality will inspire your learners and your colleagues, and will embed you into our school family.
Lifelong Learner
You will be self-motivated, ambitious and keen to grow within the role both personally and professionally.
Safeguarding Statement
Whaley Bridge Primary School are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks and other relevant employment checks including checks of social media.
The start date for the post is September 2024.
Interested candidates are strongly encouraged to get in touch to discuss this unique position before applying. Please make it clear in any enquiries that you are interested in the ERS post.
