Consumables Stock Controller (Part-Time)
Thursday & Friday - 8am to 4:30pm - 15 hours per week
Shrewsbury and Telford Area
Our client is the leading service provider of Managed Equipment Services (MES) for the NHS and the private health sector in the UK. They are currently looking for a Part TimeConsumables Stock Controller to join their team based in the Shrewsbury and Telford area.
To be considered for this role you need to have at least 3 years UK based warehousing and inventory management experience . Previous NHS or healthcare background would be an advantage .
Responsibilities
- Day to day management of consumables on site
- Set up inventory parameters to enable direct ordering
- Manage automatic and manual orders including non-stock
- Stock transfers e.g. ad hoc issues on a sale or return basis
- Expedite orders with suppliers
- Accept delivery and manage store rooms, ensuring all stock is appropriately located ready for use by clinical staff
- Manage receipt of products for trials, loan equipment etc
- Manage stock returns
- Manage quarantine of product/product recalls/shelf-life expiry/loss management and physical returns
- Undertake cyclical and annual stock takes/reconciliation
- Manage and process equipment (scopes) for loan/repair
- Provide on-site support for Stock Controllers at regional locations as required, including stock takes and absence (approx. 30 days per annum)
- Management of price queries with suppliers, Trust procurement & finance, and Accounts payable
- Support clinical staff with point of care stock scanning
- Removal of rubbish and housekeeping throughout the facility
- Encourage and actively promote Personal Development and training
- Any other duties as agreed with Head of Consumables
Resources/Decision Making Authority
- Ensure stock levels are optimised based on usage
- Ensure all Stock Rooms are efficiently run
- Ensure products are stored safely and with good housekeeping
Key Accountabilities
- Ensuring provision of excellent support to the Trust
- Driving business improvement, including adoption and use of electronic order processing
Performance Indicators
- First pick availability of stock
- Product receipted within 2 working days
- Orders placed within the lead time to ensure stock levels are maintained at each Trust location
Essential Skills
- Microsoft Excel
- Accurate Data Entry
- Communication with stakeholders at all levels
Desirable Experience
- At least 3 years warehousing and inventory management experience, ideally in the NHS
UK travel
- Occasional travel to other sites in Midland s region
