AddressAn exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join a well known, growing service business based within the Harrogate area on a contractual basis of 12 months. The successful individual will benefit from a salary of up to £40,000 depending on experience, various retailer discounts and the potential to work on a hybrid basis after an initial training period.
Reporting into the Finance Manager, key responsibilities for the Management Accountant will include:
- Submission of monthly management accounts
- Submission of balance sheet lead schedules
- Responding to P&L and balance sheet queries
- Providing variance analysis and commentary
- Responding to client queries
- Business partnering with the wider finance team and explaining financial information/decisions to non-finance individuals
- Assisting with the development of budgets and financial plans for the business
- Supporting with annual audit
- Mentoring of more junior members of the team
This role requires someone who has strong analytical skills, a good understanding of the management accounts process and excellent Excel skills with the ability to ideally create Pivot Tables, V-Lookups and SUMIFS. The role will be a varied position combining the month end process with some business partnering so excellent communication skills are essential.
To be successful in this Management Accountant role you will:
- Be a part qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) OR will be QBE with relevant management accounts experience
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Have good practical experience of producing the balance sheet, profit and loss accounts and the full month end process
- Have excellent Excel skills and will be confident picking up new software and systems
