Purpose
Ensuring goods & services are procured at the best possible price, quality, and delivery. Providing efficient support for our clients’ departments.
Responsible for procurement activities including contracts, materials, and services to meet the requirements of our clients Engineering and Project departments.
Effectively work with assigned project teams, internal customers, and the Procurement team to develop and improve contracts, terms & conditions, structure, strategy, and performance.
Procurement Contracts
- Ensuring the site’s Engineering and Operational Contracts meet business needs and Procurement standards (i.e., provide value for money, acceptable payment terms and fit for purpose)
- Assist Engineering Team to implement required service and equipment contracts.
- Process of tenders and bidding process with target services and equipment providers
- Develop Bid tabs to ensure awarded contracts are fair, confidential, transparent and provide good value for money.
SHEQ
- Ensure all contracts deliver the required SHEQ site and regulatory standards.
Equipment Responsibilities
- Key point of contact for emergent contract issues
- Assist Procurement Contracts Manager to ensure Services and Equipment are available to ensure impact to production / Project schedule is minimized.
- Organize, plan and deliver construction contracts whilst minimizing impact to production schedule.
- Anticipation of risks and drive mitigation actions
- Communicate effectively to internal customers, team colleagues and external suppliers.
- Challenge supplier performance where appropriate.
- Understand and define the optimal ordering characteristics and strategy.
Training and Development
- Assist Procurement Contracts Manager in the generation, data collection and monitoring of site level Procurement KPIs
Communication
- Communicate and coordinate with Procurement related departments.
- Lead Procurement communications and discussions with Equipment and Service providers
Confidentiality
- Follow Corporate TSP (Trade Secret Protection) regulations to maintain confidential on sensitive information
Key Skills and Qualifications
Desirable
Degree in engineering, procurement, business, or project management
Essential
Degree educated and working towards, or fully qualified, Member of CIPS (MCIPS)
Contract development & administration including: -
- Terms and Conditions
- Services and contractor management
- Strategy
- Performance Monitoring and Problem Resolution
- Analytical skills
Contract management including: -
- Identification and implementation of cost saving opportunities processes
- Responsible for initiation of tender processes
- Familiarity with QS (Quantity Surveyor) role including systems of measurement.
- Experience in best practice framework contracts and procurement systems, procedures & systems development
- Ethical purchasing principles & practice
- Procurement processes & their relationship with business processes
- Commercial awareness to ensure goods & services are procured at the best price, quality, and delivery times.
- Liaison with nominated technical representatives.
