AJ Chambers are proud to be working with a top 100 UK law firm based in London. We’re looking for a lawyer to help their corporate and commercial team advise a diverse client base across a range of areas.
The team acts for a wide range of businesses, including large established companies, professional and creative partnerships, and entrepreneurs and start-ups involved in a variety of sectors. They have particular expertise in technology start-ups and corporate real estate, but previous experience in those areas is not essential.
This isn’t a "follow the flow chart" role. Although a core part of the role will involve corporate work such as M&A, joint ventures and fundraisings, a large part of the job will involve being flexible about your workload and your approach. Crucially, you’ll be keen to jump in and work independently as part of a busy team.
And while you’ll get the support of some of London’s top legal minds (there are 200 specialists within their walls), you’ll also have the freedom to shape the role and develop your career.
What you’re like
- You have at least 5 years’ PQE with experience in corporate law (commercial law experience is helpful too, but not essential).
- You’re used to working - and thinking - independently.
- You’re a quick learner with good academic results.
- You enjoy working as a team with colleagues and clients alike.
- You’re happy taking on new instructions, working independently and helping to "shape" the course and structure of a matter, rather than always working from a pre-agreed term sheet.
- You’re actively engaged in business development, and keen to help us attract new clients and grow the team.
Your career development
Their lawyers are rounded professional advisers with strong commercial awareness and a commitment to exceeding client expectations. All of their lawyers benefit from their cohort based career development programme. They understand the importance of building an internal network and have developed this excellent cohort programme to allow their lawyers to work together across practice areas and share their knowledge, experiences and networks.
At each stage of your career, and as you move through the cohorts, a bespoke training programme will be provided to support you with your development and progression.
