SalaryImmigration Enforcement is responsible for enforcing the government’s immigration laws, tackling illegal migration, removing foreign national offenders and immigration offenders from the UK. Do you meet the key eligibility criteria?
In order to be eligible, you MUST meet ALL the following criteria.
- I am at least 18 years old at the time of application.
- I am a UK National.
- I will be able to provide all the ID documents required to complete my pre-employment screening and security clearance.
What is an Immigration Removal Centre (IRC)?
An IRC is a secure building that holds detained individuals (residents) who are held prior to their removal from the United Kingdom or for nationality and identification purposes.
There are currently 6 IRCs in England and 1 in Scotland, with 2 more planned to open in England.
All IRCs are overseen by the Home Office’s Immigration Enforcement Detention Services and are contracted out to private companies known as IRC Suppliers who ensure all aspects of the IRC are run safely and securely within rules and legislation.
Detention Operations are part of Detention Services and have staff based in all IRCs across the UK they ensure the residents detained there are being cared for safely and securely by the IRC Supplier in line with the standards set out by the contract and relevant legislation.
This role is within the newly developed Incident and Counter Corruption Hub (ICCH) in Detention Operations. This is a new and exciting opportunity to work in a fast paced and varied role with an opportunity to shape how the hub will work. ICCH pride ourselves on integrity, transparency, and accountability in all aspects of our area of operations. As a Counter Corruption Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring corruption referrals are handled within a specified time frame by liaising with service providers and the wider business. Ensuring management is kept up to date of any trends and developments with referrals. The role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong willingness to learn and understand DS polices and frameworks, to regulatory compliance and anti-corruption measures.
The role also requires the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation. The candidate must also have the ability to prepare statistical reports and presentations. Counter Corruption Officers are also responsible for the daily management of our Inbox and preparing management for meetings.
The role also carries the responsibility of delivering our Counter Corruption Awareness Training package.
The successful candidate will need to perform the role with a high-level of Ministerial, Parliamentary, and public interest.
Furthermore, frequent liaison with other Immigration Enforcement (IE) and Home Office (HO) teams is an equally pivotal aspect of the role.
