The role
What you’ll be doing
- To provide a Credit Control service for CIPD and CIPD Enterprises Ltd, chasing outstanding debt via email and telephone to expedite payment of invoices within payment terms and conditions.
- To follow up with telephone calls to reinforce the need for prompt payment.
- To post cash received in CIPD and CIPD Enterprises Ltd.
- To investigate queries raised on outstanding invoices, liaising with Finance and other areas in order to resolve queries quickly and efficiently.
- To assist in the resolution of queries on internal and external customer accounts, with a proven background in tough ledger management.
- To cover staff absence within the Sales Ledger Team.
- Help navigate a transition to new accounting system and help meet project deliverables
- Adaptable and flexible in approach and able to step up to the duties of Sales Ledger Manager in times of holiday/sick leave absences.
- Teamworking essential, as part of a wider Finance team and Internal stakeholders.
- Assist with training any new members of staff .
What you’ll need to be successful
- The job holder will be numerate with good intermediate spreadsheet skills and experience with computerised accounting systems, preferably on Sales Ledger. Accuracy in this type of work is important.
- The jobholder will have good organisation and prioritisation skills. The job holder will also be conscientious and willing to work as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and good customer service are required, including an excellent telephone manner. A degree of assertiveness and persuasive skills are also important.
