Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a Global Manufacturing Group to recruit a dynamic and experienced Credit Controller based in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. A permanent Credit Control position reporting directly to the Finance Manager in a sole role managing all credit control processes for the UK & Ireland. The role would suit a person with experience in Credit Control and the accounts receivable function who is looking to progress their career to the next level. You must be a forward thinker, open to making changes & willing to challenge the status quo and provide business partner support, both to finance and the wider commercial organisation.
Your new role
Your key duties will be to ensure that customers pay outstanding balances in line with their agreed credit terms, work closely with the customer service department to resolve queries and issue credit notes if necessary. Report forecast cash receipts and identified payment issues in a timely manner, banking any cheques received from customers, monitoring of credit insurance declarations, and producing quarterly credit insurance submissions. Working closely with the shared service payables team based outside the UK, monitoring key KPI's to include days sales outstanding, along with proactively dealing with customer queries on pricing, discounts or delivery related issues. You will review and complete customer credit applications, ensuring that they are approved and have the appropriate supporting documentation. Assisting the external auditors with any queries regarding accounts receivable or credit control. You will support the Finance Manager in identifying efficiencies and innovative solutions, which will streamline processes both within the department and the wider business.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this interesting Credit Control role, you will need experience in a similar position, proven experience chasing debt with accounts receivable knowledge. Willingness to learn and adapt within a forward-looking, commercially driven organisation, with strong MS Excel skills and key financial systems experience. You will have strong communication skills to build relationships both internally and externally at all levels, target-driven with self-motivation, and the ability to manage your own workloads to meet deadlines. You will ideally have a basic understanding of financial ratios, credit applications, and VAT. Experience with SAP and within the manufacturing or construction sectors would be advantageous but not essential.

Remote/office hybrid working of 2 days remote, 3 days in the office, once settled into the role.
