About the role
The role of Credit Control Assistant will work with our customers to manage and reduce ageing debt. Ensuring that relevant Codes of Practice, Data Protection and in-house procedures are followed, you will have responsibility for the entire credit/debt lifecycle, whilst assisting the rest of the team with general admin duties.
What you’ll be getting up to on a day-to-day basis:
- Collecting all outstanding Debt from customers based on agreed client terms, ensuring that Overdue Debt is minimalised
- Escalating any issues arising from Debt to the appropriate Account Manager or Director and follow-up to ensure this is resolved.
- Processing all monthly Sales Receipts and ensure all allocations are up to date on a daily basis.
- Producing all monthly statements, ensure they are sent to clients and any subsequent queries addressed in a timely manner
- Raising deposit/stage invoices as required to assist the timely collection of Debt.
- Providing administrative support in relation to the completion of Finance Agreements, and Direct Debits as requested
- Answering the telephone and direct calls correctly and professionally
- Assisting with all functions within the department as required
- Assisting with other general office duties as necessary
Person Specification
Essential Criteria:
- Previous Credit Control experience across a wide and varied client base
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade 9-4/A*-C (or equivalent)
- A working knowledge of MS Office packages such as Outlook, Word & Excel
- Able to evidence strong communication skills and proficiency in English language, both verbal and written
- Excellent attention to detail
- Willingness to learn
- Valid Right to Work in the UK (We do not currently hold a visa sponsorship licence)
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience of working in a busy finance or administrative department
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Business Central Accounts package
- Experience of working in the IT industry
