At Lloyds Banking Group our primary purpose is to help Britain prosper...
We're responsible for 20% of the UK's financial system and partner with a huge number of FTSE 250 organisations across the UK, EU and North America.
Consumer & Technology (C&T) Credit is a hard working part of the Industry Sectors Credit Team, supporting our colleagues across Corporate & Institutional Coverage and Product Partners.
We provide independent and dynamic credit assessment of debt and other facilities provided to corporate customers as well as monitoring and risk managing a multi £Bn portfolio in a sophisticated and evolving sector. The role involves undertaking credit assessments for our portfolio of high-profile Clients across our entire commercial product range.
Job Description
Here's what you would be focussing on:
- Managing a portfolio of C&T Clients - covering retail, food & drink manufacturing, travel and leisure and Technology/Media/Telecoms.
- Undertaking independent credit assessments of lending proposals and presenting them to key decision makers - succinctly articulating the key risks.
- You'd cover new to bank business, increased lending, and annual credit reviews in the consumer and technology space for the Bank's core corporate relationships as well as undertake annual sector reviews.
- You'd undertake research using business press, credit rating and information agencies, to ensure assessments have an external dimension, and apply judgement to which material is included when evaluating lending proposals.
- You'll collaborate widely with originators, relationship managers, product partners and Clients (including meeting their CFOs and CEOs) where necessary to shape proposals and maintain a balance of risk and reward and also to identify viable new business opportunities.
- You'll monitor and control credit exposures, to identify situations which may increase risk to LBG, communicating with Senior Managers and other interested parties as appropriate, as well as compliance with LBG policy and regulatory policy.
It's a dynamic and varied role where you could be meeting someone you'd normally see on the front page of the FT to presenting at senior credit committees with our LBG Chief Risk Officer in attendance!
You'll also have the chance to take advantage of opportunities to widen your credit experience to other sectors and areas including Leverage Finance and Infrastructure & Project Finance.
What we need to see on your CV:
- Evidence of relevant commercial Corporate Credit experience with a track record of consistent performance.
- Good knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements around Commercial banking.
- Familiarity and ability to deal with complex financial models (strong Excel skills are required).
- (Credit) Report-writing skills - pulling together impactful, concise presentations with care.
About you
- You'll demonstrate high levels of attention to detail, numeracy and accuracy and be able to evidence how you build relationships and nurture them.
- We'd want you to have the ability to communicate at all levels and across different audiences - technical and non-technical.
- If you've any knowledge and experience of the Consumer & Technology sector then this would be a huge bonus, but other sector experience works too.
We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:
- A generous pension contribution of up to 15%
- An annual performance-related bonus
- Share schemes including free shares
- Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping
- 30 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top
