Yunex deploys several different Traffic Management systems that rely heavily on the use and processing of large volumes of data. The purpose of this role is to ensure we deliver a reporting solution to our customers based on specific contractual requirements whilst helping to maintain a high level of service delivery. A Management Information Systems (MIS) Data Engineer plays a crucial role in Yunex solutions by leveraging technology and analytical skills to manage, analyse, and interpret data related to systems.
Areas of responsibility and tasks
- Analyze and organize raw data to prepare it for consumption by MIS reports and analyses
- Build data systems and pipelines that will ensure timely delivery of data to reporting systems
- Evaluate business needs and objectives
- Conduct complex data analysis and report on results
- Build algorithms and prototypes
- Combine raw information from different sources
- Explore ways to enhance data quality, integrity and reliability
- Identify opportunities for data acquisition
- Develop analytical tools and programs
Daily Tasks
- Ensure data is updated and ready for reports and analyses to consume it
- Internal reporting on data availability and integrity
- Check for Service level Agreement breaches
Knowledge & Skills
The key competencies and capabilities for this role are:
- Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Java and Python)
- Great numerical and analytical skills
- High level of communication skills will be necessary as you will be expected to liaise with other parts of the business and with customers one to one and in a presenting role
- Ability to manage your own time
- Ability to solve complex problems
- Ability to achieve objectives with strict deadlines
- High attention to detail and error checking abilities
Required experience
- Previous experience as a Data engineer or in a similar role
- Hands-on experience with SQL database design
- MS SQL environment, especially within an AWS or Azure virtual server setting
Educational Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar field;
- Data engineering certification (e.g AWS Certified Data Engineer) is a plus
