Job description

 Role Overview

The successful candidate will work closely with a team of valuers and consultants, with the majority of the time initially spent undertaking valuation work in connection with Development and Investment acquisitions for the purposes of secured lending, board approval but also during the course of agency (buy and sell side).
The assets which the team advises on are:
• Development Land (mixed tenure, with and without planning)
• S106 package deals
• Grant Funded portfolio acquisitions
• Portfolio Valuation of new build affordable stock
• Private Rented Sector / Single Family Housing – Bulk acquisition
• Completed development sales valuations
• Fund Valuation
Due to the team’s varied advisory capacity, and remits secured by the wider Affordable Housing Division, there is scope for the role to develop with opportunities across development consultancy and agency commissions. The role will also involve managing client relationships and helping to grow the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing valuation advice to clients within deadlines
  • Analysing key data and extracting salient information
  • Managing the valuation reporting process from appointment to production of report
  • Producing valuation reports
    Inspecting client properties
  • Carrying out due diligence enquiries
  • Reporting to clients and senior colleagues and keeping in regular contact
    Be capable of establishing and managing relationships with clients with a view to identifying future opportunities for the team / wider Housing Division
  • Be capable of dealing with instructions and clients alone after an introductory period
  • Become a single point of contact for clients

 Key Skills

  • MRICS qualified with Level 3 Valuation Competency
  • Highly analytically with excellent attention to detail

  • Strong verbal, numerical and report writing skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • A desire to progress and generate new business
  • Strategic approach to problem solving
  • Highly motivated
  • An ability to utilise varying methods of valuation (Residential Valuations experience advantageous)
  • Computer literate, specifically with Excel and Argus Developer, with ability to understand the inputs and operation of a discounted cash flow
  • Development Valuation experience preferred

Team Overview

An opportunity has arisen for a Registered Valuer to join the Housing Development & Regeneration team based at Savills’ global HQ in central London. This successful team of 18 is part of the market leading Savills Affordable Housing Division with clients across the housing sector including Housing Associations, Pension Funds / Investment Managers and Public Bodies. The team is mixed discipline providing clients with Development Management, Consultancy, Valuation and Agency advice.
