The Opportunity: We have an incredible opportunity for someone to become our Director of Academy (DoA). We are looking for an NMC registered nurse/midwife with an established international academic profile. The Director of Academy is the most senior role in the Foundation after the CEO and will have the responsibility and authority to support the development and transformation of the Academy, driving forward operational excellence and maintaining the confidence of donors, scholars, regulators, and wider stakeholders. This includes overall responsibility for the financial delivery, performance, academic credibility and operational management of the Academy. Job Purpose: Key to the postholder’s success will be developing, and leading high performing multi-functional teams to deliver ongoing change and continual improvement. The DoA will also lead subject matter experts to deliver core and commissioned policy and influencing activity including high quality, academically robust outputs that support our strategic priorities in a way that is consistent with our values, behaviours, and ways of working. The Succesful Candidate: The successful candidate will have a PhD, with experience of leading academic research and education programmes at Director level. The ability to plan effectively, manage performance and resources will be essential. In addition, we are looking for an exceptional leader who will collaborative effectively with a strong customer focus. You will have an understanding of the global issues facing the nursing and midwifery profession with a passion to support their ongoing leadership and development.
