Robertson Bell are delighted to be working with this impressive Christian charity whilst they recruit for a permanent Director of Finance and Operations role. Reporting into the Chief Executive, you will manage two direct reports with overall responsibility for a team of six.
Duties for this role will include:
- Review the financial viability of investments and lead on the strategic plan.
- Act as a dynamic and confident leader to the finance team.
- Oversee all elements of risk, governance and legal matters including management of the risk register.
- Present to the board of trustees and various committees, ensuring alignment to the charity’s strategy is always maintained.
- Manage the development of financial plans and budgets working hand in hand with the CEO.
- Oversee all regulatory compliance, maintain tight financial controls and improve systems and processes ensuring staff have access to necessary training and support.
- Assist the Senior Leadership Team with business decisions and business planning.
- Facilitate the growth of the organisation by building a strong finance team.
- Oversee the HR function and liaise with overseas staff.
This is the perfect opportunity for a proven finance leader who is seeking a new and varied hands on role in a not for profit organisation. This Director of Finance and Operations will be based officially out of the charity’s head office in the West Midlands, with regular office attendance required. The role will join a professional and purpose driven team and will have the opportunity to really make this role their own and drive positive change.
The successful candidate will:
- Be a qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA)
- Have previous experience leading a finance team and reporting into a Chief Executive.
- Be an experienced people manager.
- Be a highly capable communicator.
- Feel confident managing projects and driving efficiencies.
