Purpose of job:
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is a key priority for Kingsley Napley.
Following a firm-wide review of DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) in 2023, we established a number of ambitious goals and a commitment ‘from the top’ to deliver a new strategy. We are looking for a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Manager who can take the lead in putting our plans into action and support us in getting to the next stage of our journey.
You will act as a subject matter expert for DEI and be responsible for leading our Responsible Business Employee Networks, and special interest sub-groups, to make sure that initiatives are aligned, as well as working operationally on priorities and specific initiatives; design, delivery of training, and policy enhancement.
Main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Research, apply and promote initiatives across the firm to deliver the firm’s diversity and inclusion objectives designed to attract, retain and develop diverse talent and foster inclusive leadership. Working closely with the People team, network chairs and senior stakeholders
- Ensure inclusive practice is woven into our wider People plans including assessment frameworks, early careers and talent projects
- Share best practice, provide advice, guidance and support on DEI issues to all members of the firm
- Organise and chair DEI meetings to ensure effective communication between groups, and progress, is continuous against the firm’s objectives
- Generating and implementing ideas to support and mark notable dates, events and firmwide initiatives
- Coordinate and deliver training that supports our strategic objectives
- Monitor and ensure delivery of the firm’s strategy, tracking and reporting on progress and deliverables working closely with the relevant stakeholders and HR team
- Uphold the firm’s diversity data, ensuring it is accurate and up to date. Undertaking data capture and analysis to better understand Kingsley Napley’s diversity and measure progress
- Manage the firm’s diversity and inclusion budget
- Producing reports and/or presentations providing updates, advice, best practice or solutions to the Management Team and whenever appropriate; facilitating their implementation
- Keep up to date with D&I trends in the legal sector as well as across all other industries and globally, working to ensure the firm is proactive and progressive in its approach to D&I
- Support the recruitment team to promote the firm’s D&I achievements to potential candidates
- Work closely with the Head of Talent and Development to implement our DEI strategy across the Firm
- Any other duties of a similar nature, deemed reasonably necessary, by the firm
