We have a great opportunity to join our Talent Pool for Duty Control Manager based in our control center in Birmingham!
This is not your typical 9-5 desk job. The Duty Control Manager role is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring quick thinking and excellent leadership skills . This critical role provides 24/7 operational leadership and is the direct link between our front-line operational teams and the Operations Control Center, ensuring Health, Safety, Security, and continuous improvement are championed throughout to deliver the best possible service to our customers.
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Significant experience within a Railway Operational Control Centre environment.
- Experience as a people leader
- Incident management experience from start through to conclusion including de-brief and learning activity
- Effective communication skills at all levels of the organisation
- Understanding of delay investigation and attribution.
- Strong proficiency in technology and experienced using the IT systems used would be beneficial but not essential (including but not limited to TRUST, P2, CCF, RJIS, VMS, Web Gemini, Integrale, Microsoft Office and BOT).
- Excellent problem solving skills
Control posts operate 24 hours a day and involve shift work, therefore nights, shift and weekend working is required along with a positive can-do demeanour to sophisticated problem solving. You:
- Must be willing to work nights
- Must be available for 06:00 starts and 22:00 finishes
- Must be available to work weekends
