About The Role

Working hours:35 hours per week
Contract type: Permanent, Full Time

This role is subject to -

  • Car Documentation- This post is a designated Casual Car User. Therefore, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work. You will receive the Casual Car User Allowance.
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance - this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Information provided by you or the DBS will be dealt with in a confidential manner and in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice which can be viewed here. We have a policy on the Employment of Ex-Offenders and it is available upon request.
The Early Years Outreach Worker will work as part of a team delivering the Early Years Offer across Beswick, Clayton, Gorton and Levenshulme, and will work at front line level, to a high standard of quality, using a whole family approach.
Families and their children will be supported to be school ready, promoting better health lifestyles and encouraging adults back into work, volunteering and further education.

Early Years Outreach Worker will deliver identified interventions with families where the child/ren are under the age of 5 years and have been identified as requiring a package of support to improve outcomes and achieve their milestones in development. This will either be at a universal level or at level 2 on the Multi Agency Threshold document, carrying out strength based conversations.

About the Candidate

We are looking for candidates who:
  • have a professional, efficient, friendly, and caring approach to supporting families and their children
  • have an understanding of child development and the needs of vulnerable families
  • are an excellent team member, having good time management, able to prioritise workload, multi-task and be flexible across their work day
  • good IT skills
  • Car user desirable
Training will be provided.
