About The Role: As the Engagement & Communications sector lead, you will be responsible for managing all communications, engagement, and readiness activities for traders within the live animals and dairy sectors, in relation to the Target Operating Model (TOM) implementation. You will work closely with the project teams, sector stakeholders and other relevant parties to ensure that the sector's needs and concerns are addressed and that they are well-informed and prepared for the key TOM milestones. Your main duties will include:
- Creating and delivering effective communications products and channels that are relevant, timely and engaging for the sector, using a variety of media and formats.
- Participating in project team work to provide sector-specific input into the biosecurity, Borders and Trade Programme projects, such as feeding in sector concerns, sentiment and feedback, and producing communications and engagement plans for the relevant projects.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with influential stakeholders in the sector, such as trade associations, industry bodies, key traders and intermediaries, to understand their communications and engagement needs and expectations, and to facilitate their involvement and support for the TOM implementation.
- Keeping the gov.uk content up-to-date and accurate for the sector, ensuring that it is consistent, clear and user-friendly.
- Feeding into programme reporting against readiness and risks with the sector, identifying and escalating any issues or gaps that may affect the successful delivery of the TOM.
About You: To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor your messages and style to different audiences and channels.
- Experience of developing and delivering communications and engagement strategies and plans for complex change programmes in the public sector, ideally from another central government department or a regulated industry.
- Ideally, knowledge and understanding of the live animals and dairy sectors, their trading processes and challenges, and the TOM implications for them.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, and to influence and persuade them to achieve desired outcomes.
- A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively under pressure.
- Understand the OASIS Model regarding running campaigns and delivering to Government standards.
- Experience of working in Communications in a TOM -Target operating Model
- Previousley woirked in a communications role within Central Goverment
