Buckingham Futures have a fantastic opportunity for an Environment and Energy Team Leader for our Local Authority client based in the West Midlands.
Key responsibilities
· Be responsible for the management of the Environment and Energy Team made up of 4 team members.
· Be responsible for ensuring that the Energy and Environmental team contribute to the delivery of relevant targets - Carbon Neutral Property Portfolio by 2030; Carbon Neutral County by 2050
· Be responsible for implementing the Energy and Environmental Strategy’s; Policy’s and Standards for the council.
· Have overall responsibility for ensuring the council has a certified environmental management system (IS014001) to maintain legal compliance and reduce the council's environmental impact
· Overall responsibility for commissioning and delivering initiatives to support the de-carbonisation of the council’s building portfolio
· Responsibility for producing a robust, agile data set of metrics to monitor, measure and identify energy and environment trends / possibilities inc. identifying high use sites. Ensuring that the data and set of metrics support strategic decision making and investment plans.
· Be the Contract manager for water, gas, electricity contracts and provide ongoing liaison to ensure that the appropriate accurate, timely data is maintained.
· Work with key Stakeholders to support a review of the Building Energy Management System, identifying solutions that would support our understanding of our property portfolio.
Key Qualifications and Experience
· Be IEMA-Qualified.
· Have prior experience in a managerial capacity at a local authority in a similar position.
· MUST be a subject-matter expert in the field of Environmental Sustainability and Net Zero.
