University of Warwick Campus, Coventry
Faculty Office of Science, Engineering & Medicine
Full Time, Permanent
£29,605 - £32,982 per annum, pro rata
This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in supporting a key strategic priority for the University of Warwick, the STEM Connect Programme.
This programme was established in 2018 to reimagine the way we deliver discovery-led and translational STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) research in a data-driven era, and how we inspire and teach future generations of scientists and engineers. We are working with our Academic Departments and Faculties to consider the key enablers of innovation and scientific discovery in a changing world. The STEM Connect programme aims to transform the way we think about, and deliver, science by building on our existing strengths and capabilities, whilst adapting and responding to new opportunities and cross-disciplinary global challenges.
To support these ambitious plans for STEM growth and transformation, and to tackle issues with ageing infrastructure in Chemistry, Physics and Engineering, we are building a new £425m Science and Engineering Precinct in the heart of our campus. This 10-year, multi-phase programme will begin with the development of a c24,000sqm innovative cross-disciplinary STEM Research and Education building, designed to support teams across a range of STEM disciplines.
The capital programme is about to complete RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) Stage 3 with the first phase of construction due to commence within the next two years.
The role will involve providing high level PA support to the Programme Director and the programme team. It will include working with academic departments, external consultants and our Estates team, as well as other key stakeholders as we work our way through the next RIBA stages. We are looking for someone who has excellent administrative skills, governance support experience, great team working and communication skills, and is keen to help us achieve the ambitions of this exciting capital and academic transformation programme.
For informal enquiries, please contact Eliza Gaffney (e.j.gaffney@warwick.ac.uk) and Jill Shaw (jill.shaw@warwick.ac.uk)
We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis, even where a position is advertised as full-time, unless there are operational or other objective reasons why it is not possible to do so.
The successful candidate will be a highly capable, proactive PA, with experience working within a busy and complex environment. You will be comfortable dealing with multiple stakeholders, and able to prioritise diary and programme complexities, through effective and efficient diary management. You will be highly organised, a great communicator, and able to rapidly adapt to the changing needs of the programme.
The STEM Connect programme team is located within the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Medicine to support the programme. You will work at the interface of academic departments, central professional services and external partners, in a friendly and supportive team, with opportunities to undertake a wide variety of programme support activities.
