Your new role
This is a varied, demanding, and interesting hands-on role, in which a highly organised and enthusiastic, but methodical facilities professional will thrive. Being proactive, approachable, and able to structure the workload is essential, to ensure the needs of the buildings and the teams are met. The post-holder will need to be comfortable in working through pre-planned tasks and impromptu facilities challenges with equal composure and efficiency.
A brief overview of duties included are as follows:
- Manage the day-to-day maintenance of the building's infrastructure in accordance with Operation and Maintenance manuals, including the organisation of emergency repairs, small work requests on a value for money basis, and the supervision of external contractors involved in these works.
- Assist in managing the maintenance contracts.
- Assist in managing the cleaning contract which includes building and office cleaning, washroom services, window cleaning, landscape maintenance and associated subcontractors.
- Assist in managing the manned security contract.
- Security duties.
What you'll need to succeed
- You must have a full UK driving licence.
- Experience managing contracts, overseeing facilities/maintenance or cleaning teams.
- Hands-on maintenance and facilities experience of 2 years+.
- Preference of evidence being in long-term committed work previously.
- Must be a flexible individual an all-round team player.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety and Risk assessing.
An asset to your CV will be an interest or experience in working for charities/ public sector and museums.
What you'll get in return
The appointment is permanent (subject to a six-month probation period), and full-time, working 37 hours per week (net), 5 days out of 7. Additional evening and weekend work may be required.
Training will be provided as well as 33 days of annual leave inclusive of bank holidays.
This is a temporary to permanent position, and the permanent salary offered for this post is £31,500.
