Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be empathetic, resourceful, and committed to providing holistic support to families in need. You will work closely with individuals and families facing various challenges, including but not limited to financial difficulties, mental health issues, parenting struggles, and housing instability. Your role will involve providing emotional support, practical assistance, and connecting families with relevant resources and services to help them overcome their challenges and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build trusting relationships with families and individuals in need of support.
• Conduct thorough assessments to identify the specific needs and strengths of each family.
• Develop personalized support plans in collaboration with families to address their unique challenges and goals.
• Provide practical assistance, guidance, and advocacy to help families navigate complex systems and access essential services such as housing, healthcare, education, and employment.
• Offer emotional support, counseling, and crisis intervention as needed.
• Facilitate group sessions, workshops, and support groups for families to enhance their skills and resilience.
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams, external agencies, and community partners to ensure comprehensive support for families.
• Stay informed about relevant policies, resources, and best practices in Family Support services.

Qualifications and Skills:

• A bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field (preferred).
• Proven experience working with families and individuals in a social service or community-based setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse populations.
• Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude towards individuals and families facing difficulties.
• Knowledge of local resources, services, and support networks in Nottingham and surrounding areas.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
