We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our successful client in Glasgow City Centre. In this role, you will support the Management Accountant in delivering accurate and timely financial information. This includes processing daily financial transactions, purchase ledger, bank reconciliations, and assisting with month-end reporting and process improvements.
Day to Day of the role:- Process and review purchase invoices, and assist with the preparation of supplier payment runs within agreed timescales and with appropriate approvals.
- Maintain the purchase ledger, reconcile supplier statements, review Aged Creditor ledgers, and communicate with stakeholders on any unresolved issues.
- Conduct a Daily Income Audit, including revenue and ledger review and balancing.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations, investigate and resolve reconciling items, and maintain regular communication with stakeholders on any unresolved issues.
- Manage internal and external queries to resolution through investigation, reconciliation, and escalation.
- Provide key support to the Management Accountant, including ad-hoc accounting duties, and assisting with month-end closing activities.
- Transactional finance experience is essential, with AP & Bank experience desired.
- Proactive self-starter with the ability to problem-solve.
- Organised and able to prioritise work to meet reporting deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of IT literacy, including strong Excel skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience of Business Central is highly desirable.
