Finance Assistant
Location: Hull
Salary: GBP25-GBP27k per annum DOE
Our client is on a mission to revolutionise the UK's renewable energy sector. As an emerging player in commercial solar panel installations nationwide, they offer a fantastic scheme that enables businesses to leverage the energy savings and environmental benefits of solar energy.
We are partnering with them to recruit a Finance Assistant on a full-time, permanent basis at their Head Office in Hull. This role is perfect for someone recently qualified in a finance role or with around 12 months of experience, looking to grow with a forward-thinking company.
Finance Assistant Role Overview:
You will handle the preparation of management accounts, bank reconciliations, VAT returns, supplier payments, budgets and forecasting, and month-end journals, including prepayments and accruals. You will also oversee the credit control team to ensure prompt payments from customers.
Finance Assistant Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate all incoming emails, noting actions taken.
- Handle day-to-day finance administration, both internal and external communications.
- Process customer sales orders and manage the purchase ledger.
- Process purchase invoices, ensuring correct coding and compliance with purchase orders.
- Handle supplier payments and postings, reconcile supplier statements.
- Manage the sales ledger and post customer receipt cash.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance team and complete ad-hoc duties as needed.
- Cover operational tasks during holidays or sickness.
Requirements:
- Relevant NVQ qualifications and GCSE level education or equivalent.
- Experience with Microsoft Applications and at least 1 year in a finance role.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and customer service experience.
- Proficiency in Xero (or similar software), Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
