Our client is a reputable and stable manufacturing business based in Lincoln, which has a turnover of c. £210 million and c. 600 employees. The finance team of 10 is well established and a number of the individuals have been with the business for over 10 years and have progressed their careers internally.
Job Description
You will be reporting into the Head of Finance, who has been with the business for over 10 years and has progressed from Accounts Apprentice. This is an extremely commercial role, as you will be frequently liaising with the operational team to help them understand the company's finances, and drive profitability and cost savings. You will be responsible for one area of the business, and your duties will include, but will not be limited to:
- Producing the weekly figures for a specific area of the business.
- Completing month and year end activities, including: general ledger postings, stock management, balance sheet reconciliation and supporting with the annual audit.
- Providing non-finance senior stakeholders with financial insight into costs and profitability.
- Reviewing pricing and raw material costs.
- Supporting the planning department with costing new and existing products.
- Supporting the Head of Finance and commercial team with tenders, which will include the creation of business models.
- Producing and reviewing forecasts, and challenging any variances. Supporting with budgeting, which will include: the preparation of budget models, challenging budget holders where necessary and providing a narrative in the annual budget packs.
The Successful Applicant
To be considered for this role, you do not need experience of Business Partnering non-finance stakeholders or experience of working at a manufacturing business, as lots of training will be provided. However, you must:
- Have solid experience of working in management accounts
- Has excellent oral communication skills and the ability to converse with individuals at all levels
- Will be able to work as part of a friendly and supportive team.
- Be studying ACCA, CIMA or AAT, or be qualified by experience.

- £40,000 - £55,000 (dependent upon experience)
