the Finance – Homes and Money Team; a team of 8 including Business Partners and Senior Business Analysts, working in partnership with colleagues across the breadth of the organisation to support the delivery of their respective strategic objectives.Within this team you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the business, working closely with key stakeholders across a variety of different areas, such as commercial, risk, finance, IT & Change and distribution to name but a few.The Skipton Group are entering an exciting phase, investing heavily in a variety of purpose driven initiatives, helping more people into their own home, saving for life ahead and supporting their long-term financial wellbeing.This role plays a key part in this journey, providing senior support to the Finance Business Partners and key stakeholder areas across the business to deliver the respective financial aspects of the strategic objectives. This will be done through the provision of value creating financial, commercial and advisory support to the Society with a key focus on building internal and external trends and insights. Within this role, you must have a proven ability to leverage the insight produced. and sell additional annual leave daysMatching employer pension contribution (up to 10% per annum)A commitment to training and developmentPrivate medical insurance for all our colleagues3 paid volunteering days per annumDiverse and inclusive colleague networks available for you to join including our Carers and Pride Alliance groupsWe care about your health and wellbeing – we provide a range of benefits that support this including cycle to work initiative and discounted gym membershipWhat Will You Be Doing?Work in partnership to help deliver the strategic objectives of the Home Financing business, the Money business and Group enabling functions.Play an active role in providing input to the Corporate Plan and Quarterly Forecasts and supporting colleagues in the Society Planning, Stress Testing and Reporting team.Build knowledge and understanding of Group operational drivers with key stakeholders, how these are translated into financial outcomes and work with them to better understand how these can be influenced.Work with the business to derive key assumptions for financial planning, joining up these assumptions across functions and with other Finance Business Partners and Analysts to ensure direction is well thought through and setting the Society up to succeed.Provide strategic analysis to support more informed decision making across the organisation through the identification of value drivers and opportunities for course correction.Provide robust challenge and financial risk assessment to support the strategic decision-making process.What Do We Need From You?A proven track record of providing value creating financial insight in the Bank or Building Society sector, with a strong ability to engage, influence and work in
partnership with stakeholders at all levels, providing constructive challenge when required.You will have the ability to role model the Society’s behaviours (Be accountable, Be curious, Be collaborative, and be Brave) and demonstrate a standard of skills and behaviours to which the Finance Business Partnering team can aspire.We’re looking for a proactive, enthusiastic self-starter to deliver excellent outcomes and service. You’ll be curious, identifying business problems and challenges whilst also proactively developing and delivering practical solutions.A strong understanding of the commercial drivers of a Financial Services business and how these influence financial outcomes; and establish the impact on the Society (both qualitatively and quantitatively).
