Finance Manager

Blue Arrow Derby is proud to be working in partnership with a public sector client based in Staffordshire. They are looking to recruit a Finance Manager (Transactional) to join their team on a full-time permanent, based at their offices in Stone.

About TheFinance ManagerRole
The successful candidate will provide effective management of all transactional activity, with responsibilities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, VAT, liaising with the treasury team and with internal and external auditors. You will also be responsible for mentoring and training the team and offering training and support to the wider organisation and developing and updating policies and procedures.

Salary: £36,996

What duties will I be doing in the Finance Manager role?

• Managing relationships: Ensuring banking facilities for our client are appropriate and operating effectively.
• Manage Financial Regulations: Ensuring appropriate authorised signatory list is in place and keeping a close eye on compliance in relation to the authorisation of transactions.
• Sales Ledger: Have an oversight of the sales ledger, ensuring invoices are raised in an accurate and timely manner. Also, to have oversight over the debt collection arrangements ensuring there is an appropriate debt collection policy and procedure in place.
• Invoice Arrangements: To ensure that arrangements are in place for the prompt processing of invoices, liaison with the Purchasing Manager to ensure POs are raised I advance enabling invoices to be matched to PO in line with KPI performance.
• Manage Payments: To ensure there are appropriate and effective arrangements in place for BACS payments to be made and that Faster Payments and CHAPS payments are minimised and only actioned in exceptional circumstances.
• KPI'S: To ensure appropriate KPI are agreed that will deliver performance more than sector benchmarks, that these KPI's are monitored monthly and reported to Head of Finance, Financial Accounting and Chief Finance Officer.
• Cash Flow Management: To maintain liaison with their Treasury Management function to ensure any large items of expenditure are communicated enabling robust management of the cash flow.

What will I bring to the Finance Managerrole?

• Previous experience as Transactional/Finance Manager
• Must be AAT qualified or hold a relevant qualification.
• A grasp of Force Financial Regulations and Policies and an understanding of wider accounting regulations and principle (desirable).
• Substantial and relevant understanding of a finance system with knowledge of relevant transaction flows.
• Demonstrate a track record of providing a high quality, customer focused financial service.
• Demonstratable experience of daily and monthly routines of a busy finance office
• Excellent communication skills
• Proven ability to engage and build relationships with stakeholders.
