SALARY: £26,152 pro-rata
EMPLOYMENT: Temporary (6 + months, potential for permanent contract), full-time (open to reduced hours, 4-days), office-based.
Reed Accountancy is partnered with a brilliant organisation in Belfast in the recruitment of a Finance Officer to join their team on a temporary basis (possibility for permanency).
The post holder will work as part of the Finance team in the maintenance of the financial records and systems of the organisation and in the production of financial reports.
Key responsibilities include:
- To maintain the sales and purchase ledgers and all associated duties.
- To prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements.
- To assist in the payroll function
- To prepare and submit VAT returns on a quarterly basis.
- To assist in preparation of quarter end management and year end management and statutory accounts.
- To prepare and submit monthly claims..
- To maintain the Pegasus Nominal Ledger structure and Finance Procedural Manual.
- To prepare monthly cash flow schedules and monitor quarterly working capital.
- To assist in preparation of annual budget, quarterly forecast, profit & loss and cash flow financial information.
- To liaise with appropriate staff in respect of relevant employee issues.
- To undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time by the organisation in line with the status of the post.
What you’ll need to succeed!
- At least 3 years recent relevant experience in a computerised accounts environment, preferably using Pegasus Opera.
- At least 3 years recent relevant experience of sales and purchase ledgers.
- Relevant experience of using computer spreadsheets for financial reporting (preferably Microsoft Excel). Knowledge of the Microsoft office suite
- The ability to prioritise workloads and work to deadline.
- The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills (oral and written).
Desirable Criteria:
- To have achieved or be working towards IATI qualification or equivalent
