Finance Officer – Income and Expenditure – Permanent

An exciting opportunity has come up to work for a leading Royal Institute based in Westend to join a team of four Finance Officers. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be working in a fast paced environment where on average 300 invoices will be processed on a weekly basis.
This is a highly transaction role where very strong attention to detail, strong accuracy and wanting to learn and develop is key.
You will be going in once or twice a week to their office based in the Westend. The salary offered based on experience is between £30,000 – £32,000 per annum.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for the By-Weekly BACS payment runs
- Responsible of raising and importing of accurate invoices
- VAT partial exemption
- Correct allocation of payments made to the Royal Institution by credit card, direct debit, bank transfers and taking appropriate action on any payment that do not clear#
- Process payments made by company credit card
- Maintain the fixed asset register
- Any other work as directed by the Financial Controller or Director of Finance
Candidates applying for this role must have the following:
- Excellent numeracy skills and strong verbal and written communication skills
- Sound understanding of double entry book-keeping
- Very strong experience in income management / credit control
- Customer service
- AAT qualified, holds a similar qualification or is working towards qualification
- Experience of working in a busy finance department with responsibility for similar tasks
- Experience of working in the charity or not-for-profit sector
- Experience of working with OpenAccounts or any other similar Finance systems
