Hays are working in partnership with an exciting and fast-paced organisation, who have grown significantly through acquisition, are looking to add a qualified Financial Accountant to their team. This company is a market leader in their field and continues to expand into new markets.
Your new role
The main purpose of the role will be to support the financial accounting function by providing external reporting, cash flow monitoring and technical balance sheet control. You will work closely with a variety of stakeholders to deliver timely and accurate financials, while continuing to look at process improvements that will benefit the wider business.
Specifically, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Preparation of external reporting, including the Group Annual Report and subsidiary financial statements;
- Preparation of external sustainability reporting including preparing climate risk assessments, articulating the requirements and how they impact the Group;
- Reviewing acquisition completion accounts;
- Researching technical accounting aspects to ensure the Group is compliant with IFRS;
- Ownership and reconciliation of technical areas on the balance sheet;
- Technical calculations/models such as share-based payments and hedge accounting;
- Key understanding of technical areas which effect the group, such as IFRS3, IFRS 9, IFRS 16 and more;
- Month end and weekly reporting;
- Assisting the wider finance team as required on any ad-hoc duties.
This is a full-time role, working 40 hours a week from Monday to Friday. This company operates a hybrid working model, ideally with an office presence for 3 days a week.
What you\'ll need to succeed
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent);
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS;
- Audit experience desirable;
- Proactive and driven to succeed;
- Able to influence others and work well in a team;
- Able to energise, shape and direct colleagues to maximise motivation;
- Multi-site experience desirable
- Intermediate Excel skills;
- Strong communication skills.
