Financial Accountant

We are currently working in partnership with a leading Housing Association based in Kent with who are recruiting for a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis.

This position is due to start subject to notice, is paying £52,500 and offers 3-4 days working from home.

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified in ACA/ACCA/CIMA and have experience working throughout the Social Housing sector.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Ensuring that financial accounting processes are completely and effectively within agreed
• targets, in line with financial delegations
• Completing the monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items on a timely
• basis
• Maintaining the fixed asset registers
• Preparing cashflow forecasts and balance sheet reports
• Supporting the Financial Controller in preparing monthly performance and annual financial
• statements
• Monitoring the effective operation of financial and operational controls and procedures, reporting any issues or concerns immediately to management
• Ensuring the monthly payroll process is effective, performing appropriate checks, and liaising with colleagues in the People team and Golding’s payroll bureau service to clear errors
• Assisting with the preparation of regulatory returns
• Assisting with the preparation and presentation of statutory accounts

Experience required:

• Experience required in a similar financial accounting position
• Experience in the public sector

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

• Excellent communication skills
• Intermediate Excel skills and preferably knowledge of Open Accounts
• Fully qualified in ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent)

Working hours:

• 37.00 hours per week
• Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm (flexible hours on offer)
