Financial Accountant | EdTech SaaS Startup | London / Hybrid
Harmonic are delighted to be working with a high growth EdTech SaaS start-up in their search for a Financial Accountant to join their team in Central London.
The Business:
The business offers cutting-edge software platform that enables some of the biggest Tech brands globally to upskill and train their workforce effectively. Their innovative SaaS tool has landed them the backing from 3 leading investment funds and subsequently, the business has ambitious plans for accelerated growth and continued international expansion.
You'll join a dynamic and fun startup atmosphere where employee well-being and cross-departmental collaboration has been central to their success thus far. They have a fantastic office space in central London with a consistently a buzzing atmosphere for when you're not working from home.
As Financial Accountant reporting into the VP of Finance, you'll be overseeing all aspects of the accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cash flow management, and compliance with tax regulations in both the UK and the US. You will also partner with the leadership team, providing financial insights and analysis to support the company's strategic direction.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Qualified Accountant to join a well-funded startup with the opportunity to influence strategy and contribute significantly to the company's scaling plans.
The Role:
- Oversee the complete accounting cycle, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger maintenance, and payroll processing for both the UK and US.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports with support from Outsourcing, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and UK GAAP.
- Support tax compliance for UK and US entities, including data collection, tax schedule preparation, and communication with tax advisors.
- Manage audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit.
- Implement and maintain treasury management practices to optimize cash flow and mitigate risks.
- Prepare and submit statutory returns to Companies House and relevant US regulatory bodies.
- Maintain strong internal controls to ensure financial data accuracy and integrity.
- Use accounting software (Xero) and other financial systems to streamline processes.
- Stay current on US GAAP, UK GAAP, and relevant tax regulations.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed.
What we need to see (Essential):
- Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent.
- Minimum 1-2 years of post-qualification experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations (UK/US), and internal controls.
- Advanced skills in Excel and Xero.
- Adaptability to new accounting software and systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000
