Financial Accountant - Ftc 12 Months

Your new company
Working for an internationally recognised examination board based near London Liverpool Street. This is a 12-month FTC to cover maternity leave, therefore we are looking for a candidate that is experienced in financial accounting.
Your new role

• Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance.
• Reconcile income with cash receipts.
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns.
• Prepare sales tax returns.
• Prepare the statutory financial statements.
• Manage their tangible fixed assets, accounting for additions, disposals and monthly depreciation.
• Assist the financial management team with ad hoc analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
• Participate in the review, development and testing of finance procedures and systems.
• Reconciliation of income and control accounts.
• Conduct effective credit control.
• Posting VAT journals, accruals and other ad hoc journals.
• Reviewing finance-related work in other areas of the department e.g. journals, control accounts, payroll details, expenditure authorisation.

What you\'ll need to succeed

• Part-qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
• Experience of year-end processes and liaising with auditors.
• Excellent knowledge of financial controls and fraud prevention.
• A good working knowledge of statutory accounts.
• Experience working with financial systems.
• Experience with reconciling control accounts.
• Experience and/or knowledge of VAT and tax compliance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
