An established and widely known Wealth Management firm servicing Investment Management needs to High-Net-Worth Clients.
The Role
The Financial Accountant / Management Accountant role sits within a Finance team responsible for the maintaining management accounting records and the production of associated internal and external reporting for all of the firm’s UK regulated entities - predominantly the Wealth Management and Financial Planning business.
The Financial Accountant / Management Accountant will produce monthly revenue and assets under advice reports and work closely with management and front office to fulfil Financial reporting expectations.
The Financial Accountant / Management Accountant will suggest improvements to the management reporting function within the Wealth Management business, which may include designing new reports and increasing automation.
The Financial Accountant / Management Accountant will provide support with the financial accounting function including month end reconciliation and bookkeeping
The Financial Accountant / Management Accountant will help work on the integration of the finance function following acquisition of Financial Planning businesses and will undertake ad hoc project work including post-acquisition integration of new business, the implementation of new systems and changes in regulatory reporting.
The Candidate
4+ years experience in a similar Management Accountant / Financial Accountant role or audit experience in the financial sector, having covered Wealth Management businesses.
An understanding of accounting for Wealth Management/ financial planning products – essential!
A degree and relevant accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
X-Plan / IO / Avaloq experience – preferable
A high degree of IT literacy with advanced Excel skills - able to manipulate and handle large volumes of spread sheet data through the use of formulae and pivot tables with macro level being advantageous.
An understanding of the appropriate Compliance regulations and familiarity with FCA and IFRS reporting, relating to Wealth Management/financial planning companies is advantageous .
Analytical and organised with a high level of accuracy and able work to tight deadlines
Enthusiasm to learn new tasks and pro-actively suggest improvements to processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
