Financial Accountant

This role seeks a Financial Accountant who will bring a robust understanding of accounting principles and excellent financial management skills to a thriving organisation in Liverpool. The successful candidate will ensure the integrity of financial data, prepare financial reports, and support strategic decision-making processes.

Description

• Prepare and present timely monthly financial statements
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting within the Not for Profit and Charities industry
• Manage and comply with local, state, and government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Manage and coordinate the annual audit process
• Support the financial planning and analysis efforts
• Take ownership of the groups assets register and management of housing stock and recording of charges
• Maintain the cash flow forecasting and ensure all appropriate payment controls are in place to move cash

Profile

A successful Financial Accountant should have:

• Studying towards ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and accounting software
• Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
• Excellent analytical skills and experience creating reports and presentations
• A high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency
• Knowledge of the Not for Profit and Charities sector
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
