Job title: Financial Accountant
Location: North West England OR Glasgow: We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: £43,000 + depending on experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Operating Business Processes to create/manage data/activities in Business ERP’s where a Financial Control role is nominated
- Provision of support to internal & external customers in the application of the established policies, processes and procedures
- Supporting financial transaction processing that is accurate, efficient and in accordance with the financial control requirements, including intervention in support of query resolution
- Transactional review activity, applying judgement where required, to provide process assurance (data accuracy, data quality, compliance, etc.)
- Supporting the Balance Sheet assurance and review of Stock balances (both Common & Project as designed), including support to External & Internal Audit
- Supporting the Balance Sheet assurance for Capital expenditure, applying challenge and judgement as required
- Preparing accurate reporting information, including regular provision of bespoke information in order to drive outcomes
Your skills and experiences:
- Qualified or Part Qualified finance professional with a financial accounting background
- Appreciation of end-to-end processes (particularly balance sheets, R2R & P2P) and how effective controls need to be applied to processes
- Knowledge of governance and controls environment as operated, including key reference documents and accounting standards
- Appreciation of IFRS, accounting policies and how they apply to financial data and processes

The Finance team:
The position is situated in the Finance Modernisation Capability Centre at Head Office, providing essential support to the Maritime and Land Sector. You will be part of a recently established team that offers specialised assistance to enhance the financial operations of the Maritime and Land businesses.
You will have exposure to working with stakeholders across multiple lines of business and this role provides a great opportunity to make a real difference whilst developing your career within a global organisation.
