Financial Accountant

Robertson Bell are partnering with this exceptional not-for-profit organisation as they go to market for a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a forward-thinking and pro-active individual as you will hold full-autonomy over all financial accounting duties and have line management responsibilities over one direct report.

In this Financial Accountant role, you will be responsible for:

• Overseeing the whole month-end process, including signing off on all payment runs and reconciling payroll, investments and the balance sheet.
• Generating tax returns on a quarterly basis and ensuring all partial exemptions are applied for.
• Assisting in the statutory audit by ensuring the balance sheet is correct and reconciled on a monthly basis, and providing any necessary documentation to Auditors.
• Act as the finance system ‘Super User’ by providing support to the wider organisation on all system related queries, offer training, and be proactive in identifying and implementing improvements.
• Have line management responsibility of one direct report, ensuring to review their work, provide training and develop their skillset.

The successful Financial Accountant will:

• Be interested in working for a not-for-profit organisation and have experience working in an international organisation.
• Have a thorough understanding of financial accounting and have excellent communication skills.
• Be confident communicating with non-financial stakeholders to identify and drive process improvements across the finance function.
• Be proficient in Excel and have experience using various accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, NetSuite etc.
