Financial Accounting Manager

Salary: £60,000-£65,000

Location: Manchester (hybrid working)

Duration: Permanent

Sellick Partnership has been engaged to recruit a Financial Accounting Manager for a growing and dynamic services company based in Manchester city centre. This profitable division is part of a listed and world leading organisation which has gone from strength to strength. The division has seen significant growth over the past few years and will now be looking to further advance through organic growth as well as via acquisitions.

This role is available at an exciting time and the successful candidate will manage the day to day responsibilities of the Operational Accounting Team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and control, whilst providing technical support to all members of the team.

The main focus of the role will be end to end management of the financial entries hitting the general ledger, however the added value of enhancing and developing both the team including driving process change, and the quality of the financial information produced by strengthening controls. The team comprises of c.5 individuals at various levels of professional qualification.

The role offers exposure to a wide range of Finance areas including month end and group reporting, indirect taxes (UK and various overseas territories), balance sheet control, investment accounting and cash management. The role will require strong analytical skills, but also a high level of adaptability.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) coming from a similar role.

The individual in this role needs to have previous team management experience, strong organisational skills, a proven record of process and system improvements, be pro-active, flexible and able to meet tight deadlines

You will have solid business partnering and influencing skills in order to be a success in a complex area of the business with multiple stakeholders. You will have a creative and innovative approach to problem solving and analysis; delivery orientated - able to work in pressurised environments, meet multiple deadlines and manage own priorities.

You will also be able to demonstrate business acumen and ability to gain knowledge across the breadth of a variety of functions. Good communication skills - able to translate financial information and create successful business relationships. You will also be able to take a 'big picture' view with demonstrable internal consultancy and influencing skills, while possessing a keen eye for the detail.
