Our client is an impressive mid-market Private Equity firm which is looking to bring on a Financial Controller into their London finance function. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic finance professional to join an established team in a broad, varied role. As Financial Controller you will play a key role in the management of the finance function whilst supporting and reporting directly to the CFO. You will work across the management company and fund platform with overall day-to-day management of the external finance administrators and advisors. What the job involves
- Preparation of monthly management accounts, flash reports, variance analysis
- Review of quarterly and annual accounts for funds, including deal specific and carry entities
- Manage and co-ordinate year-end audit processes, dealing with external auditors, preparing schedules, audit packs etc
- Day-to-day management of fund finance advisors (accounting, tax, fund administration, etc)
- Preparation and review of quarterly investor reporting for the funds
- Review of valuations, and fund performance analysis of the funds
- Review of drawdowns, distribution and carry waterfalls and management fee calculations
- Preparation of quarterly IRRs for the portfolio, funds and investors
- Preparation and review of annual taxation requirements for advisers across the funds and manco
- Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of accounting data presented to internal and external stakeholders
- Oversight and management of assistant accountant's work
- Part Qualified / Qualified Chartered Accountant (or equivalent) would be desirable
- Experience in a private markets fund finance function would be desirable
- Strong understanding of MS office, preferably in excel
- Detail oriented with the ability to multitask, prioritize and execute projects diligently
- Self-starter, comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
