Financial Controller

Our client provides builders and conservators with expertly manufactured and installed interior finishes to enhance the built environment. This full-time opportunity will be based in their bright new purpose-built office and will serve as support to their finance department.

They are seeking a Financial Controller, a new role in the accounting function across four construction companies in a group.

Working with the directors of the business, role responsibilities include:

• Overseeing all financial control of the businesses
• Closing off the month end including balance sheet reconciliations, WIP, group company management charges and P&L month end reports
• Manage cashflow and working capital to optimise resources
• Prepare statutory returns
• Ensuring that the directors receive accurate and timely management information
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
• Invoicing and liaison with factoring service
• Debt collection
• Supplier payments
• Providing external auditors with the necessary documentation and support
• Collaboration with the directors to assist in establishing and improving effective processes and controls

Desirable skills and experience:

• ACCA or CIMA part or fully qualified
• Quickbooks experience
• Good Excel skills
• Strong communication and organisation skills
• Ability to work independently and liaise with people across the business
• Construction industry experience advantageous

Software knowledge:

• QuickBooks
• Excel

Time management:

With a multifaceted role like this and many competing deadlines, juggling efficient time management is a must. Office working hours are between 8:30 am – 5.30 pm, Monday – Friday.

This is a permanent office based role with no opportunity to work from another location.

Pay: Up to £65,000.00 per year
