Interim Financial Reporting Manager
Location: South London
Rate: £506.33 per day (umbrella)

We are seeking an Interim Financial Reporting Manager to join a Local Authority in South London. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and executing the Fixed Assets and Leases accounting process. Additionally, you will play a key role in assisting with the closing of accounts for 2023/24 for joint boroughs. This includes updating the Fixed Assets Register, actioning all fixed assets accounting entries and disclosures for one of the two boroughs, and processing leases details to determine the upcoming accounting impact of the introduction of IFRS16 for leases accounting from 1 April 2024 for both boroughs.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage the Fixed Assets and Leases accounting process.
- Update the Fixed Assets Register and action all fixed assets accounting entries and disclosures.
- Assist with the closing of accounts for 2023/24 for joint boroughs.
- Process leases details to determine the accounting impact of IFRS16 introduction.
- Liaise with Internal and External Auditors.
- Contribute to the production of Local Authority statement of accounts.
- Ensure strong stewardship of public monies through financial control and governance processes.

Requirements:

- CCAB (or equivalent) qualified.
- Detailed knowledge and experience of closing financial accounts for a large Local Authority.
- Experience in leading or contributing to the production of Local Authority statement of accounts.
- Knowledge and experience of Financial Reporting requirements for a Local Authority.
- Experience in identifying and delivering service improvements or digital innovation.
- Understanding of financial control and governance processes.
