About the Team

FP&A are responsible for management reporting and budgeting/forecasting at the top level for ORL and its business units, ensuring both the integrity of reporting and external market communications as well as supporting business strategy and planning.

The team is split between forecasting and reporting. The Forecasting team focuses on the annual budget process and all forecast and future planning activity. The reporting team is responsible for all weekly/monthly/quarterly and annual reporting, ensuring key performance messages are conveyed internally and externally to our stakeholders at Ocado Group, M&S and the wider market.

The Role/Profile

• Reporting into the interim Senior Finance Manager for FP&A, this role is to manage the financial reporting function for a period of 6 months whilst a permanent FP&A Lead is onboarded
• Lead and develop a team of 2
  • 1 x Senior Finance Analyst
  • 1 x Graduate Finance Analyst
• Establishing strong relationships with Business Partners to obtain insight on results to ensure fully understood and presented in a meaningful way
• Monday Trade – oversight and consolidation of weekly reporting of sales, financial and non-financial KPI data, collating insight to present to CFO and FD in a clear and concise manner with value adding commentary every Monday afternoon
• Co-ordinating month end close timeline and facilitating FD and CFO P&L reviews during close
• Manage the preparation of the monthly Board pack ensuring the integrity of data and providing insightful analysis and commentary so support business decisions
• Presenting the monthly Board pack to the CFO and CEO for their sign off
• Responsible for the periodic reporting including reporting to key stakeholders
• Responsible for the consolidation of the monthly operational management accounts and commentary
• Provide quality data to Commercial Finance to enable Business Partnering
• Lead on responding to ad hoc requests for analysis and information (note that ad hoc requests typically from CFO, CEO or the Finance Director form a significant element of this role)
• Ensuring the business segments results are fully understood and cost allocations appropriately reflected
• Overseeing the analysis of external data for benchmarking and competitor analysis
• Develop reports and analysis to give insight into operational cost base by key drivers
• Preparation of quarterly reporting information, communicated externally and internally
• Support the FP&A reporting team to deliver on process improvement initiatives that are inflight and any new initiatives or system enabled enhancements that add value to the business or deliver controls improvements, efficiency gains and/or improvements to accuracy and robustness
• Support the interim Senior FP&A Manager and FP&A Manager (Budgets & Forecasts) on budget and forecasting processes, analysis and reporting where required (limited scope)
• Support the interim Senior FP&A Manager with managing risks and opportunities
• Support the interim Senior FP&A Manager with developing the 5 year Financial plan process for Ocado Retail, where required (limited scope)
