The Women's Strike: A Refugee Lysistrata project is run and managed by Makani, a community interest company who work with refugee women to overcome trauma, fight for Their rights, and to transform their lives and the world around them.
The project will culminate in a 3 night run of the production at The Park theatre, Finsbury Park, London. 'The Women's Strike will be directed by Sepy Baghaei, adapted by Carmen Nasr and devised with the company.
We are recruiting an Assistant Director/Understudy to join the team.
Fee: £2250 - Based on 18 days work at £125 per day
Contract: This is a freelance short term contract starting in April 2024 and ending in July 2024.
Dates:
April, May and June dates are weekday afternoons and evenings to be arranged with the director from (around 10 sessions total). Key dates in July that the the candidate must be available for are detailed below:
1-5 July - 10am - 6 pm
8 - 14 July - Production week. Some daytimes for load in, tech rehearsals, load out, etc. and some evenings for shows.
NB: Due to participatory nature of this project, timings of rehearsals may change due to availability of participants. Some flexibility is appreciated.
