Job description

A returning client of ours in the logistics industry is seeking a dedicated individual to join our UK management team, providing essential support in Credit control/AP function This role is pivotal in managing accounts receivable and accounts payable, as well as offering wider administrative support. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes and contributing to the development of client pricing and tariffs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitor and control the collection of debts through direct communication with clients.
  • Allocate cash receipts and maintain accurate aged debtor reports.
  • Support the development of pricing and tariffs for existing clients.
  • Identify potential bad debts and prepare reports for senior management review.
  • Manage new account openings, ensuring accurate completion of application forms and collection of KYC documents.
  • Monitor sales credit limits and coordinate with sales and operations managers on near-limit accounts.
  • Process credit notes in a timely manner with proper approvals.
  • Strive to minimize DSO and bad debt.
  • Liaise with sales and operations teams to resolve queries and ensure seamless customer experience.
  • Input payables invoices, manage accruals, and escalate discrepancies.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to business operations.
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in credit control of customer accounts and resolve customer queries promptly.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven understanding and ability to perform principal duties.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in customer interactions.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Well-organized with the capacity to manage multiple projects and deliverables concurrently.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Confident telephone manner and a flexible approach to workload.

Desired Skills:

  • IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office, Excel, and database management.
  • Positive and enthusiastic response to change.
  • Minimum education of GCSE level or equivalent.
