A returning client of ours in the logistics industry is seeking a German speaking Credit control/finance assistant to join our UK management team, providing essential support in Credit control/AP function This role is pivotal in managing accounts receivable and accounts payable, as well as offering wider administrative support. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes and contributing to the development of client pricing and tariffs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitor and control the collection of debts through direct communication with clients.
- Allocate cash receipts and maintain accurate aged debtor reports.
- Support the development of pricing and tariffs for existing clients.
- Identify potential bad debts and prepare reports for senior management review.
- Manage new account openings, ensuring accurate completion of application forms and collection of KYC documents.
- Monitor sales credit limits and coordinate with sales and operations managers on near-limit accounts.
- Process credit notes in a timely manner with proper approvals.
- Strive to minimize DSO and bad debt.
- Liaise with sales and operations teams to resolve queries and ensure seamless customer experience.
- Input payables invoices, manage accruals, and escalate discrepancies.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to business operations.
- Collaborate with the Operations team to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Assist in credit control of customer accounts and resolve customer queries promptly.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven understanding and ability to perform principal duties.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in customer interactions.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Well-organized with the capacity to manage multiple projects and deliverables concurrently.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Confident telephone manner and a flexible approach to workload.
- Fluent German speaking ( obth written and spoken)
Desired Skills:
- IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office, Excel, and database management.
- Positive and enthusiastic response to change.
- Minimum education of GCSE level or equivalent.
