Job description
Main Duties: Dealing with private and confidential information ensuring confidentiality at all times. Answering the telephone courteously and dealing with telephone calls as appropriate. Greeting patients on the arrival at the Practice and assisting them as appropriate. Using computerised system to book patient appointments.
Ensuring that emergency calls are passed to the Doctor on duty without delay. Ensuring accurate maintenance of medical records, computerised and paper copies. Taking messages, ensuring name, telephone number and full details of message is taken. Opening, stamping, and distributing post to relevant staff.
Issuing repeat prescriptions and preparing them for signing. Taking and making ambulance bookings as instructed. Updating computer communication from hospitals and different departments. Any other clerical duties that may be required from time to time, to ensure the smooth running of the Practice.
